Granddaughter of Thomas Barthelemy Cardon and Ella Clarinda Hinckley
Daughter of Ella Vida Cardon and Roy Lambert Adams
Henrietta (Nettie) Cardon Adams Jimenez, age 89, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed peacefully on June 5, 2016, at Legacy House Bountiful where she was a resident.
Nettie was born in Logan, Utah on April 13, 1927, the adopted daughter of Leroy Lambert Adams and Ella Vida (Cardon) Adams. An adopted son, Kirk, joined the family eight years later.
Nettie grew up, graduated from Logan High School and worked at The Bluebird before meeting Robert (Bob) Blase Jimenez, a Staff Sergeant in the Army Air Corps in 1944. June 28th of 1945 Bob and Nettie were married in Logan and were later sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple. She lived her life in service to her family and her Savior, and especially loved serving the sisters in Relief Society.
Nettie was a devoted, loving mother of seven children: three from Bob’s first marriage and four born to them later. They started their family in Utah, then moved to Twin Falls, Idaho until their children were grown. Bob’s work then took them to Galveston, TX, Atlanta, GA, then back to Boise, Idaho where Bob retired.
Nettie loved music and played the piano from an early age. She had a beautiful soprano voice and sang in many choirs and especially enjoyed performing in a musical play, HMS Pinafore. She also loved and appreciated nature, especially birds, and flowers. Nettie loved learning and was an avid reader all of her life. She was talented in all kinds of handwork, and enjoyed crocheting, cross stitching and doing needlepoint.
Nettie had a delightful sense of humor and loved to laugh, which she did often. Among her gifts was her ability to make friends, and she was always kind and encouraging to others. She leaves a legacy of service, devotion to God and cheerfulness through the storms of life. She will be profoundly missed by all who loved her.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff and caregivers at Legacy House Bountiful for the love and tender care extended to Nettie the past three years.
Nettie is survived by sons Robert C Jimenez, Richard L (Brenda) Jimenez, Joseph A (Eden) Jimenez; daughters Jeri (Stephen) Halliday, Roberta Jimenez, Ella (Dean) Greenup, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert, daughter, Lili Gross, and brother, Kirk Adams.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 9, 2016, at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. where friends may visit family from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to services. Interment Logan City Cemetery.
