Helen Anne Sullivan departed this life in her sleep in the wee hours of 27 February 2020 in her home in Milano, Italy, at 93 years of age.

Anne was born in San Antonio Texas, to Lt. Col. Alexander (WWI veteran) and Claire Sullivan. She lived in several states wherever her father was posted with the army. Anne was preceded in death by her elder sister, Jean, and her younger sister Margaret. She is survived by her younger brother, Michael (in Heber, Utah), his son Patrick and her own two children Cecily (in Mumbai India) and Roger (outside Milano Italy), niece Francesca (in Fredricksburg, Texas).

As a young adult, Anne attended UCLA and graduated with a B.A. in English Literature. Afterwards, she worked in a bank. She loved playing the piano and skiing. On one skiing trip, she met her future husband, James Francis Stewart, an electrical engineer and WWII veteran. After marriage, they settled down in Orange County, California, where her two children were born. From there, the family moved to San Diego County, California. After several years there, they moved to Tennessee, then West Virginia, as Jim’s work took him to new places. His work became more demanding, and after a move to Italy, their marriage ended in divorce. Anne stayed on in Italy with her children, helping them cope with their Italian school lessons. Soon after Cecily completed high school and moved back to the US, Anne moved with Roger to Milano. In Italy, after Roger had finished high school, Anne took up private English lessons, English translations, and import and sale of software for personal computers.

Anne occasionally attended musical performances, including symphonies and operas, to which she also introduced her children. Later in life, Anne enjoyed attending local short courses for senior citizens. She had a few friends in Milano whom she met on special occasions.

Her ashes will be buried in Logan, Utah.
