LEWISTON – Hazen Wesley Bright, 80, died Monday in Logan Hospital.
He was born Sept. 17, 1897, in Lewiston, to John Wesley and Alice Janette Taggart Bright. He married Leah Merrill Sept. 28, 1927, in the Logan LDS Temple.
Mr. Bright had spent his lifetime in Lewiston, operating a farm there. He attended Cache County school, Brigham Young College and Utah State University. A member of the LDS Church, he had filled a mission to the north-western states, and had served positions in the various auxiliaries. He also participated in civic affairs in the Lewiston area.
Surviving are his wife, Lewiston; three sons and two daughters, Hazen Stephan, Payson; John Wesley, Lewiston; William Mark, New Mexico; Mrs. Jed (Camille) Hart, Salt Lake City, and Mrs. Lewis (Louise) Wiser, Lewiston; 24 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother and two sisters, Lynn T. Bright and Mrs. Marva T. Haren, both of Logan; Mrs. Norean Boyce, Draper.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday noon in the Lewiston 1st-4th LDS Ward chapel, by Bishop R. Sid Karren. Friends may call at the Nelson Funeral Home in Smithfield Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m., and at the ward chapel Thursday one hour prior to services. Interment will be in Lewiston City Cemetery.
