Evanston – Funeral services for Veda Mary Byrne, 79, and Harold Allen Byrne, 83, were at 2 p.m., June 27, 2008, at Crandall Funeral Home. Interment followed the services at the Evanston Cemetery.

She died on June 23, 2008, at Rocky Mountain Care in Evanston.

He died on June 24, 2008, at Salt Lake Regional Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah.

They were married on June 3, 1947, in Piedmont, Wyoming. They were married for over 60 years.

She was born on Sept. 1, 1928 in Evanston, Wyoming, the daughter of Delmar and Mary (Guild) Dean. He was born on March 8, 1925, in Richland, Ore., the son of Merle and Lavella (Decker) Byrne.

They loved to chaperone dances at the VFW lodge, in their earlier years together.

She was always very supportive of his interests.

They were successful owners and operators of several local businesses, including the Uinta Bowling Lanes, Riverside Restaurant, B Bar B Lounge, and a Standard Gas Station. The couple was currently retired.

He was a member of the VFW, the Masons, Elks, active in the Junior Chamber of Commerce, and enjoyed fishing and hunting.

He also belonged to the Search and Rescue where he donated his plane and services for rescue missions.

They are survived by three daughters and their spouses, Jan Morton of Mission Viejo, Calif., Linda O’Hara, of Visalia, Calif, and Betty Gunyan of Rock Springs; six grandchildren, and eight great-grand-children.

She is survived by a sister, Anna Lou Nelson, of Seattle, Wash.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Roy Dean and her parents.

Harold was preceded in death by his wife; parents; and brothers, Earl and Jack Byrne.
