George Emes Ioset passed away peacefully April 5, 2006, in Reno, Nev. George was born Jan. 28, 1923, in Twin Falls, Idaho and was the son of Dr. Raymond and Fern Ioset. He was a decorated veteran of World War II and served in the Army in Europe. After the war, George completed his college education at Idaho State University and obtained a degree in pharmacy. While at ISU he met the love of his life, Joan Cardon, and they were married on Aug. 24, 1947. George and Joan were married for over 54 years. Joan passed away March 21, 2002 in Reno, Nev.
George spent his career as a salesman and then as a sales manager for Lederle Laboratories and as a pharmacist in his latter years in Boise, Idaho, Elko, Nev. and in Reno, Nev. George had a great smile and wonderful sense of humor. He loved talking to people and made their day a little brighter.
George is survived by his three children, Phil (Jan) Ioset, Scottsdale, Ariz.; Jorganne (Jon) Steers, Gardnerville, Nev.; and Michele Ioset, Reno, Nev. He also had two grandsons Jon (Judy) Ioset and Jason Steers and two great granddaughters, Jordon and Jessie Ioset. He is also survived by his brother Richard (Nancy) Ioset. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. A son, Michael, preceded George in death. At George’s request there will be no memorial service. Donations in his memory should be made to the American Cancer Society or your favorite charity.
