HYDE PARK, Cache County – Frank Earl Lamb, 53, died Monday of a heart attack. Born Feb 17, 1907, here to Sewell Erastus and Phoebe Ann Thurston Lamb. Graduated from North Cache High School. Married Helen Cardon, Nov. 4, 1931, in Logan Temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Survivors: widow; sons and daughters: Robert C., East Lansing, Mich., Frank E. Jr., Chicago, Ill.; John C.., Mrs. Dean (Margaret) Elwood and Lucille Lamb, all Hyde Park: three grandchildren, five sisters, Funeral Thursday 1 p.m., Hyde Park LDS Chapel. Friends call Nelson Funeral Home, Logan, Wednesday 7-9 p.m. and family home, Hyde Park, Thursday after 10 a.m. Burial Hyde Park Cemetery.

Dies Suddenly

Frank Earl Lamb, 53, died today of a heart attack while doing chores at the family residence in Hyde Park.

The son of Suel E. and Phoebe Ann Thurston Lamb, he was born Feb. 17, 1907, in Hyde Park. He married Helen Cardon Nov. 4, 1931, in the Logan temple.

Well Known Hyde Park man
Frank Earl Lamb, 53, died.

HYDE PARK – Funeral services for Frank Earl Lamb, 53, lifelong resident of Hyde Park who died yesterday from a heart attack, will be conducted Thursday, 1 p.m. in Hyde Park ward chapel, with Bishop Ernest Olsen officiating.

Friends may call at the Nelson Funeral Home in Logan Wednesday, 7 to 9 p.m., and at the family home in Hyde Park Thursday after 10 a.m. Burial will be in Hyde Park City cemetery.

Mr. Lamb was born Feb 17, 1907, in Hyde Park, a son of Suel Erastus and Phoebe Ann Thurston Lamb. He received his education in the county schools, and was graduated from North Cache high.

He had been a farmer by occupation; three years ago, he became custodian of the ward chapel.

He married Helen Cardon Nov. 4, 1931, in Logan LDS Temple. Mr. Lamb had been active in the church, having served a mission to the Northwestern States from 1928-30; counselor in the YMMIA, member of the Sunday School superintendency 9 years, and in the East Cache stake superintendency two years. Also, he had been ward clerk 1 1/2 years, ward teaching supervisor, and ward teacher.

Mr. Lamb was a charter member and secretary of Hyde ark Lions club, a director of Hyde Park Irrigation Co., and had been watermaster. He had been a director of Utah-Idaho Canning Crops association for two years, and for the past four years was a 4-H Club leader and county committeeman.

Surviving are his widow; three sons and two daughters, Robert C. East Lansing, Mich., U.S. Army; Frank Earl Jr., Chicago; John C., Mrs Dean (Margaret) Elwood, and Lucille Lamb, all of Hyde Park; five sisters, Mrs. Floyd (Libbie) Nielsen, Tennessee; Mrs. John T. (Mary) Quale, Logan; Mrs. Oral (Delis) Ballam, Richmond; Mrs. Ernest (Sadie) Olsen and Mrs. Ernest (Florence) Ashcroft, Hyde Park.

Service Honors
Frank E. Lamb

Impressive funeral services were held Thursday in the Hyde Park ward chapel for Frank Earl Lamb, respected citizen and native born member of this northern Utah community. Arthur Gittins, counselor to Bishop Ernest Olsen, conducted.

The organ prelude and postlude were played by Mrs. Wilma McQuarrie who also was the accompanist for the ward choir. Opening choral number by the choir was “Oh My Father” conducted by Harvey Seamons. Other musical numbers included a vocal solo by Wendene Waite who sang “In God’s Other Room.” and he was accompanied by Mrs. McQuarrie; a violin selection was played by Mrs. Lorena Boyle entitled “My Faith In Thee.” Closing choral number by the choir was “Sometime We’ll Understand”.

Family prayer at the residence was given by M.P. Leonard, a brother-in-law of Mr. Lamb. The invocation at the chapel was pronounced by Jay Nielsen, a nephew. Benediction was by Owen Kirby, with the grave in the Hyde Park cemetery being dedicated by Louis Hickman, a nephew.

Speakers who paid high tribute to the splendid life of service of Mr. Lamb, and his many accomplishments, were Bishop Ernest Olsen, a brother-in-law, Bishop J. William Hyde, and Bishop Oral Ballam, a brother-in-law. Closing remarks were given by Arthur Gittins.

Pallbearers were Denzil Lamb, Eldon Lamb, Stephen Thurston, Ollie Thurston, Arta Balls, and Delmar Daines, all cousins of Mr. Lamb. The many beautiful floral pieces were cared for by the Relief Society and Primary organizations.
