Floyd Scott Merrill passed away on June 23, 2021 from heart complications. Even though a failing heart took him away from this world, his loving heart left a beacon of light for his family and friends.

He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on February 16, 1950, to Douglas Merrill (deceased) and Mildred Fay Knaras (deceased).

He attended Highland High School and then went on to receive an honorable discharge from the United Stated Army. He successfully led multiple commercial building projects for many years.

His interest included family, golfing or a good whiskey while on the couch watching an NBA game. He had a passionate love affair with Chips Ahoy chocolate chip cookies dipped in milk.

He leaves behind his heartbroken family, his only brother Douglas Merrill (Pauline) 4 children (Allison, Joshua, Staci and Nicholas) 5 grandchildren and his “honey” Sherrie Crew. We will all deeply miss him.

He will be honored with a celebration of life on a July 2, 2021 from 6 to 8 pm at Starks Funeral Parlor 3651 South 900 East Salt Lake City, Utah.  Guests are encouraged to use the entrance and parking located on the north side of the building.

Graveside services will be on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at 10:00 am at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 South Highland Drive, Salt Lake City.
