ST. GEORGE – Florence Cardon Jones, 95, died Wednesday, July 31, 2002 in St. George, Utah.
She was born January 28, 1907 in Colonial Dublan, Chihuahua, Mexico to Louis Paul Cardon and Edith Jemima Done. She married Harry Payne Jones on February 25, 1930 in Mesa Arizona Temple.
She was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held many callings for teaching and leadership in primary, Sunday School and the Relief Society.
She is survived by her sons; Harry Payne Jones, Jr., William Bruce (Claudette) Jones, Laurence Wendell (Ellen) Jones, Dan Lincoln (Phyliss) Jones and Steven (Phyliss) Jones; sister, Mary Cardon Clouse; 28 grandchildren, 68 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Harry Payne Jones, Sr., and son Louis Cardon (Barbara) Jones.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, August 8, 11 a.m. at the Santa Clara 5th Ward LDS Chapel. There will be a visitation Thursday August 8, from 9:00-10:40 a.m. prior to services at the chapel. Interment will be at the St. George City Cemetery under the direction of Metcalf Mortuary (435) 673-4221.
