Mrs. Eva Elizabeth Cardon, 50, wife of Ernest William Cardon, 2968 Porter, died at five-fifteen this morning, in a local hospital after a three-week illness. She suffered a stroke on Sept.7.

Mrs. Cardon was born in Hooper, Weber county, Jan. 22, 1893, a daughter of James Orson and Carrie Gwilliam Wadsworth. She was married to Mr. Cardon, Dec. 2, 1914, in the Salt Lake L. D. S. temple. She had been active in the church, serving as first counselor in the Relief society of the West Warren ward. She also served as a member of the North Weber stake genealogical board and in the presidency of the Inkom, Idaho, ward.

Surviving are her husband, the following sons and daughters: William Harold Cardon, ensign in the U. S. navy stationed at New Orleans; Darrell, Blaine and John Cardon, of Ogden; Mrs. Carrie Rose and Miss Marie Cardon of Ogden; her mother, Mrs. Carrie Cottle; stepfather, Richard Cottle, of Ogden; brothers and sisters, Harold Wadsworth, Yost, Idaho; Mrs. Stella Rose, Tremonton; Claude Wadsworth, Martinez, Cal.; Mrs. Della Sanford and Albert Cottle, Oakland, Cal. The body is at Larkin & Sons’ mortuary.

OGDEN-Mrs. Eva Elizabeth Cardon, 50, wife of Ernest William Cardon of 2698 Porter avenue, died Saturday at 5:15 a. m. in an Ogden hospital after a three-week illness. She suffered a stroke on September 7.

Mrs. Cardon was born January 22, 1893, in Hooper, a daughter of James Orson and Carrie Gwilliam Wadsworth. On December 2, 1914, she was married to Mr. Cardon in the Salt Lake L. D. S. temple.

Active in L D S church affairs, she had served as first counselor in the Relief society of the West Warren L D S ward. She had also served a member of the genealogical board of the North Weber L D S stake and as a member of the Genealogical society presidency of the Inkom, Idaho, L D S ward.

Surviving are her husband of Ogden: the following sons and daughters: Ensign William Harold Cardon of the U. S. navy who is stationed at New Orleans, La.; Darrell, Blaine and John Cardon. Mrs. Carrie Rose and Marie Cardon of Ogden; her mother, Mrs. Carrie Cottle; her stepfather, Richard Cottle of Ogden, and the following brothers and sisters: Harold Wadsworth of Yost, Idaho, Mrs. Stella Rose of Tremonton, Claude Wadsworth of Martinez, Cal., Mrs. Della Sanford and Albert Cottle of Oakland, Cal.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p. m. in Ogden Eighteenth L D S ward chapel by William De Mik, bishop of Ogden Twenty-sixth ward. Burial will be in Ogden city cemetery.

Friends may call at Larkin & Sons’ mortuary Sunday afternoon and evening and at the family residence Monday afternoon and evening and Tuesday until time for services.

Funeral services for Mrs. Eva Elizabeth Cardon, wife of Ernest W. Cardon, will be held Tuesday at two p. m. in the Eighteenth ward chapel, conducted by Bishop William deMik of the Twenty-sixth ward.

The remains will lie in state Sunday afternoon and evening at Larkin & Sons’ chapel; and on Monday afternoon and evening and on Tuesday until one-thirty p. m. at the family home at 2968 Porter avenue. Interment will be in the Ogden City cemetery.

Eva E. Cardon

Services for Mrs. Eva E. Cardon, wife of Ernest W. Cardon, were held Tuesday afternoon in the L. D. S. Eighteenth ward chapel, conducted by Counselor Leo Hirst of the Twenty-sixth ward. Prayer at the home was by Charles Higgs.

The music was furnished by Ethel Skeen, Hazel Marriott, Evelyn Nelson, Gladys Wayment and Ila Hansen. Invocation was by A. Parley Bates. Benediction was by John Jeffs. Speakers were Bishop John D. Hooper, Bishop Thomas W. Barrows, President Thomas O. Smith and Counselor Leo Hirst. Interment was in Ogden city cemetery. The grave was dedicated by Austin H. Shaw. The Relief society was in charge of the flowers.
