Funeral services for Esther Minerva Swapp Cardon, 79, who died on March 14 of a heart condition, were held Saturday, March 17, 1973, at 3 p.m. in the St. George LDS 2nd Ward with Bishop Jack Mathis officiating. Interment was in the St. George City Cemetery under direction of Metcalf Mortuary.

Mrs. Cardon was born May 18, 1894, in Kanab, Utah the daughter of John Addison and Mary Jane Cameron Swapp. She married James Clifford Cochrane April 1, 1911, in Las Vegas, Nev. (later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, they were later divorced. She married George Rankin Page Nov. 1921 in Denver, Colo., he died March 6, 1936. She married Ernest W. Cardon Sept. 25, 1943, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

She was reared in Kanab and Tropic, Utah, later moving to Overton, Nev., Los Angeles, Rawlings, Wyo. and Ogden, Utah, coming to St. George in 1964. She had been President of both a Ward Relief Society and Primary, Participated in Mothers Chorus, member of the DUP and had served for many years as a midwife. Her hobbies were poetry and gardening.

Survivors include: her husband; three sons, George L. Page of Laramie, Wyo.; Sidney L. Page of Dallas, Texas; Russell B. Page of Cheyenne, Wyo.; three daughters, Mrs. Arthur (LaPrele) Perkins of Moapa, Nev.; Mrs. Frank (Gail) Gibbons, of Layton, Utah; Mrs. Rex (Ruthe) Allred, of Las Vegas, Nev.; four stepsons, John D. Cardon of Colorado Springs, Colo; Blaine Cardon, Washington; William E. Cardon, Missoula, Mont.; Darrell E. Cardon, Roy, Utah; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Wayne (Carrie) Rose, Warren, Utah; Mrs. Roy (Marie) Edmison, Los Altos, Calif.; 21 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Sybil Cox of Chico, Calif.
