Services have been held for Ernest Elmer Cardon of Eugene, who died March 6 of Alzheimer’s disease. He was 92.

He was born Jan. 11, 1906, in Colonia Dublan, Mexico, to Joseph and Lucinda Hurst Cardon. He attended Virden High School.

He and his wife, Etta, married in Mesa, Ariz., on Oct. 28, 1928. She died Sept. 21, 1997.

Cardon lived in Turlock, Calif., from 1952 to 1973. He was an almond grower and belonged to the Chruch of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Survivors include a daughter, Orpha Tarone of Spanish Fork, Utah; three brothers, Lloyd of Camp Verde, Ariz., Eugene of Farmington, N.M., and Udell of Victorville, Calif., a sister, Gladys Miller of Leeds, Utah; 18 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Three sons and a grandchild died previously.

Burial was a Rest-Haven Memorial Park in Eugene.
