HANSEN – Edwin David “Ted” Crockett, 74, of Hansen, died Monday, March 16, 1992 at the Twin Falls Clinic & Hospital.
He was born June 13, 1917, in Twin Falls, the son of George David and Carrie M. Hansen Crocket. He attended elementary school at Rock Creek and graduated from Twin Falls High School and Utah State University. He married Marian Larsen on March 11, 1942, in Logan, Utah, and the marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. Mr. Crockett was a Navy pilot during World War II and served in the Aleutian Islands. Following his discharge from the Navy, he worked on his cattle ranch in Hansen, taught school and coached at Hansen High School for 14 years, and also spent two years at Kimberly High School.
He was active in the local and district PTA, and for 30 years, was president of the Western Stockgrowers Association. He was an active member of the LDS Church and had served as Bishop and held other positions of teaching and leadership.
Survivors include his wife, Marian Crockett of Hansen, two daughters, Kay Himes of Bloomfield, N.M., and Judy Galorath of Pacific Palisades, Calif.; three sons, David Crockett of Hansen, Paul Crockett of Farmington, Utah, and Carl Crockett of Colorado Springs, Colo.; 31 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, John F. Crockett of Hillsboro, Ore.; and one sister, Marjorie Stevens of Hansen. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Kimberly LDS Stake Center, 3857 N. 3500 E., Kimberly, with Bishop Kent Allen conducting. Interment followed at Sunset Memorial Park in Twin Falls. Friends called from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Kimberly Funeral Chapel and from 1 to 1:45 p.m. on Friday at the church. The family greeted friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Kimberly Funeral Chapel, 712 W. Center St., Kimberly. The family suggested memorial contributions may be made to the Ted Crockett Scholarship Fund, in care of Hansen High School, 208 S. Main, Hansen ID 83334
