Eddie Bindl
Eddie Bindle, Jr.

Edward Norbert “Eddie” Bindl, Jr., passed away March 1, 2012, in Evanston.

He was born on June 17, 1965, in Lander, to Edward Norbert and Donna Jean (Fenus) Bindl. Eddie attended elementary and middle school in Lander, then finished his education in Mountain View.

After attending vocational school at Aero Tech in Cheyenne, he worked as an aircraft mechanic for Continental Airlines for several years. He then moved back to Mountain View to raise his family in a nice environment, and worked as a maintenance mechanic at Church and Dwight for 20 years. He enjoyed dirt bikes, racing motocross and hill-climbing.

Eddie was always concerned about helping others. He was a dedicated volunteer, working with the Mountain View Fire Department, Uinta County Search-and-Rescue and the local EMS.

He loved spending time with family and friends, camping, hunting, fishing and water-related activities. He found peace in working and assisting his grandpa on the ranch, and looking after his grandma. His main passions were motorcycles, airplanes and family. He devoted himself to attending all athletic and extracurricular activities that his son, Jared, and daughter, Leyna, were involved with. He particularly enjoyed listening to Jared’s high school rock bands.

He is survived by his son, Jared Christopher Bindl; daughter, Leyna Marie Bindl of Niceville, Fla.; mother Donna Jean Bindl, of Mountain View; father Edward (Claudia) Bindl, Sr., of Post Falls, Idaho; sister Deborah Lynne Bindl, of Mountain View; grandparents Ed and Beth Fenus, of Mountain View; stepson Scott (Bridget) Strobel and granddaughter Abby, of Chevely, United Kingdom; stepdaughter Lindsey (Preston) Castillo, of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Italy, all from a previous marriage; and numerous extended family.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Cindy Elizabeth Bindl; and his grandparents, Norbert and Marian Bindl.

Mass will be held Wednesday, March 7, at 11 a.m. in St. Helen’s Catholic Church in Fort Bridger. Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday evening. Family and friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Interment will be in the Fort Bridger Cemetery under the direction of Crandall Funeral Home.

In honor of Eddie’s name, all memorial contributions will be donated to Bridger Valley Emergency Medical Services for initial certifications of future EMT and BEC personnel. Eddie’s hope was to continue in this field in serving others. Please mail contributions to: Bridger Valley Ambulance Service, P.O. Box 12, Lyman, WY 82937.
