Ear Franklin Stephens, 69, of 647 16th, died Saturday in Huntsville, Ala., of a heart attack.

Mr. Stephens was born Sept. 2, 1906, in Ogden, a son of Joseph F. and Netta L. Cardon Stephens.

He was married to Ila Jones on June 4, 1936, in Ogden. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on Nov. 4, 1953.

He had been employed as a meatcutter for Coombs Market, American Foods, Mayfair and Riverside Market.

He was a high priest in the Lorin Farr LDS Ward and had served as a home teacher.

He was reared and educated in Ogden and attended Weber Academy. He was a member of the Meatcutters Union, Local 637.

Surviving are his widow of Ogden; one son, David E. Stephens, San Dimas, Calif.; one daughter, Mrs. Charles D. (Jerlyn) Miller, Huntsville, Ala.; one grandchild.

Also surviving are three brothers and three sisters, Kenneth R. Stephens, Taylor B. Stephens, both of Ogden; Morris Stephens, Reno, Nev.; Mrs. Kenneth (Naomi) Johnson, McCall, Idaho; Mrs. Harold (Ila) Bragongi, Mrs. John (Iris) Spackman, both of Ogden.

Funeral services will be announced by the Chapel of Flowers Mortuary.

STEPHENS – Funeral services for Earl Franklin Stephens will be conducted Thursday at 11 a/m. in the Chapel of Flowers Mortuary with Bishop John R. Hall of the Lorin Farr Ward officiating. Friends may call at the Chapel of Flowers Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 and Thursday one hour prior to services. Interment in Aultorest Memorial Park.
