OGDEN – Dorothy Carty, 82, died Thursday, December 1, 2005 at McKay-Dee Hospital. She was born May 6, 1923 in Logan, Utah, a daughter of George and Elizabeth Ballantyne Cardon. On April 16, 1949, Dorothy married William D. Carty in Ogden. She was raised and educated in Ogden graduating from Weber College. Dorothy was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints where she enjoyed a variety of callings especially working with the young women programs as Camp and Sports Director. She was an active member of the Weber State Wildcat Club and Alumni Association. Dorothy was also actively involved as a fundraiser for the WSU Athletic Department. She enjoyed photography, gardening, skiing, hiking, spending time with her grandchildren and watching her Wildcats play at home or away. Surviving are two sons, Douglas (Natalie) Carty, Roy; Steven (Cindy) Carty, Silver Creek, CO; five grandchildren and one brother, Dean (Faye) Cardon, Ogden. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends called at the mortuary on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday 10 to 10:45 a.m. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. E-mail condolences to the family at lom@lindquistmortuary.com
