A funeral service for Dorothy Ellen Rasmussen, 95, was on Saturday, Aug. 16, 2008, at 10 a.m. in the Crandall Funeral Home. Interment followed in the Fort Bridger Cemetery.

Friends called at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

She died on August 11, 2008, at the Rocky Mountain Care Center in Evanston

She was born April 16, 1913, in Robertson to Conrad and Martha Hysell Rasmussen. She attended school at Robertson until 8th grade. She helped her father on the ranch and worked for individuals

She married Charles Harold Rasmussen in 1930. They resided at Robertson for a time then moved to Carter where he worked on the railroad.

They later moved to different areas in Wyoming where he found employment. He worked as a machinist, mechanic, miner and later in timbering. During the years of timbering, she worked at his side doing all kinds of timbering tasks. She loved this work and was very happy.

She and her husband loved to dance and spent many evenings attending dances every place they lived.

She spent her spare time in embroidering and crocheting at which she did beautiful work. She also enjoyed caring for her lawn and yard.

In 1931, a little girl was born to them, Betty Lou. She lived only five days and no more children filled their lives.

Charles passed away in 1982. She remained alone until 2003, when she entered the Rocky Mountain Care facility.

She is survived by five brothers, George of Colorado, Roy of Lyman, and Lester, Louis Lee and his wife and Clarence all of Evanston.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sisters Florence Steele and Marie Hicks.
