David Cecil Peterson, beloved Husband, Father and Son went home to be with the Lord on his 49th birthday, July 12, 2000. He was born in Safford, AZ to Chester and Virginia Peterson.
His family moved to Phoenix in 1955, where he married his high school sweetheart, Rosemary Messana on August 8, 1969. He was bishop of the Central Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
David was blessed with a passion for living that drew people close to him. He was a great example of living life to the fullest. He was a wonderful humorist and storyteller who enjoyed photography, summers a the beach and riding his Harley Davidson. A peacekeeper, soothing trouble waters with thoughtful words. He was a man of integrity who lived the principles of love and compassion and a stronghold of comfort to the weakest of us. He has left this world a better place than he found it. He smoothed the way for those who followed his path. His greatest joy in life was to be surrounded by the family that loves him so deeply. He will live on in each of us forever.
David is survived by his loving wife Rosemary, five children, John (Jennifer) Peterson, James (Amber) Peterson, Kristen (Jon) Lara, Camilla Peterson, Katrina Peterson, 3 grandchildren, Chloe, Gabriella, Andrew, parents Chester and Virginia, brother James A Peterson and sisters Karen Peterson Mosley, RulaAnne Peterson Prock. Visitation will be 8:30-9:30 am Saturday July 15, 2000 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 4601 West Encanto Blvd with Funeral Services at 10am. Donations may be made to the LDS Missionary Fund, 721 W. Portland Ave, Phx., AZ 85007. Arrangments by Valley of the Sun Mortuary 10940 East Chandler Heights Rd, Chandler, AZ.
