Our most beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend, Darrell Ernest Cardon, age 79, after a short but valiant battle with cancer, joined his sweetheart on Wednesday, January 22, 1997.

He was born December 4, 1917, in Tremonton, Utah, the son of Ernest W. Cardon and Eva Elizabeth Wadsworth. He married Lillian McKenzie on March 3, 1940, in Ogden; the marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. She died April 23, 1993.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served in various callings. He was currently serving as a temple worker in the Ogden Temple.

He had been employed as an engineer for the Southern Pacific Railroad. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Philippines.

He is survived by his four daughters, Anna (Jerry) Hodson, Brookfield, Wisconsin; Bonnie (Kent) Rowsell, Salt Lake; Carol (Gene) Hodson, Logan; Dawna Douglas, Roy; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a dear sister, Carrie Rose of Ogden, brothers, William, Blaine, John, and sister, Marie, and a recent dear friend, Margie Burbank. He is reunited with his sweet wife; father; mother; baby brother; and beloved granddaughter, Tiffany.

Daddy was happiest serving his family, friends and neighbors. Our last days together were joyous.
Honoring his request, there will be a private family viewing. Funeral services will be held at Graveside in the Ogden City Cemetery, Saturday, Jan. 25th, at 1 p.m., directed by Larkin & Sons Mortuary, Ogden.
