Standard-Examiner, Ogden, Utah, January 4, 2005. Obituary: Darlene Cano, GREEN RIVER, UT. Darlene Lolita Staley Cano, 64, passed away Sunday, January 2, 2005 at her home. She was born December 29, 1940 in North Ogden, Utah to William Nephi and Edith Lolita Metsker Staley. She married Gerald Glen Cordingley on October 9, 1959 in Ogden; he preceded her in death on March 18, 1973. She married Richard Floyd Clark on August 14, 1968 in Ogden; he preceded her in death on December 28, 1988. She married Ruben Cano on December 16, 1991. She was a member of the LDS Church. Darlene enjoyed painting, writing stories, traveling and spending time with her family.

Surviving are her husband, Ruben Cano; children, Gerald Keith (Marcia Burnett) Cordingley, Green River; Angela Cordingley (Berry) Dunn, Ogden; Michael Lynn (Amy) Clark, Broken Arrow, OK; Sharee Clark (Roy) Sepulveda, Green River; stepchildren, Sagrario (Rafael) Bena, Susana (Joel) Armendarez, Selena (Francisco) Molinear, Sehila (Antonio) Barajas, Ruben (Rosario) Cano, Sarahi (Jesus); and 31 grandchildren. Also surviving are brothers and sisters, Rita Staley Hinojosa, Clovis, CA; Larry (Sharon) Jackson, Magna, UT; Ernest Coats, Filer, ID; Danny Staley, Filer, ID; Grant Staley, Big Arm, MT; and Jeanie Staley (Al) Clark, Atlanta, GA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather Elvin Lon Wheeler, and sister Mary Staley Nixon. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Green River, Utah LDS Church.
