Mrs. Constance “Stannie” Minns Shaw, 85, of 2406 Jackson, died Thursday night of natural causes in a local nursing home.

Mrs. Shaw was born March 20, 1882 in Ely England, a daughter of George and Anna Marshall Minns.

She was reared and educated in England and had been a seamstress for the Cpun of England as a young woman.

She came to the United States in 1904, settling in Ogden.

On Aug. 25, 1904, she was married to William A. Shaw in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died Nov. 11, 1942.

She had formerly worked at the Utah General Depot as a typist.

She had been a member of the El Monte Ladies Golf Association for many years and a member of the Robert Browning Society. She was a member of the Twelfth LDS Ward and had been ward organist in the Fifteenth Ward for 10 years. She had been active in the Relief Society, serving as secretary and visiting teacher, and had been chorister of the Twelfth Ward Singing Mothers.

Surviving are one son, William Rulon Shaw, Ogden; two daughters, Mrs. James T. (Connie) Underwood, Ogden, and Mrs. Robert L. (Maurine) West, Ogden; seven grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Flowers Mortuary with Bishop Harold G. Wheeler of the Twelfth Ward officiating.

Friends may call at the chapel Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 12 noon until services. Burial in the Ogden City cemetery.
