Brent Crompton

ODGEN – Clifford Brent Crompton died Thursday, June 27, 1996, in an airplane accident in Chico Hot Springs, Montana. He was born January 13, 1948, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Clifford and Fae Byrne Crompton of Orem, Utah. He graduated from Orem High School in 1967 and attended BYU. He served in the U.S. Army for three years. He married Vickie Timpson on December 8, 1967. They had two daughters, Tiffany Lynn and Kimberlie Bree. They later divorced. Brent worked at Geneva Steel Works in Orem and was presently employed at Kimberly Clark in Ogden, Utah. He was an avid skier, sky diver, mountain bike racer and enjoyed many outdoor activities.

Brent found the love of his life, Kelly Goulding Carroll, and married her on December 28 1993. Their marriage was a truly happy union. With Kelly came another beautiful daughter, Kristin Schelin. Brent lived as deeply as he could. He was a hopeless romantic and passionate about everything, especially his five women; his mother, his wife and his three daughters. He read so much and had knowledge of a great many things. He was extremely spiritual. He didn’t believe in evil but believed there was goodness in everybody. He believed in constant progression and that we have the potential to become anything we want, no matter what the constraints of our several lives. He loved, respected, and was very proud of all three of his daughters. He was excited about becoming a grandfather and at the same time continued to relish being a father. Everyone loved Brent because he first loved them and he wasn’t afraid to show love to his father, his brothers, and his male friends. He was proud of his two sons-in-law; Chris, who has loved Tiffany from the moment he met her, and VonDell, who has proven himself, and who he knows will take great care of his baby girl.

Brent is survived by his Mother and Father, Clifford Fae, who taught him all the goodness that he possessed; his wife, Kelly, and daughters; Tiffany, Bree and Kristin who loved him unconditionally; his five brothers: Craig and Janice (Green River, Wyoming), Kevin Lynn (Orem, Utah), Corey and Donna (Orem, Utah), Darryl and Tammy (Bakersfield, California), Kirby and Jodi (Providence, Utha0 and all of his nieces and nephews. His first grandchild, who is on the way, and whose spirit is being taught by Brent’s spirit how to love and how to treat his mother, Bree, with respect. Each of his brothers felt that Brent was his favorite brother. Every person with whom he came in contact was touched by his love.

A celebration of his life will be held Wednesday, July 3, 1996, at Leavitt’s Chapel of Flowers Mortuary, 836 36th Street in Ogden, Utah at 11 a.m. Friends may call at the mortuary one hour prior to services. A gathering of friends and loved ones will follow the funeral at the home of Ralph Larson, 3186 N 425 East, North Ogden. The family is very desirous of having all of the people how loved Brent gather to share their memories of him.
