Herald Journal, The (Logan, UT) – Monday, June 24, 2002Carolyn Cardon Packard died in Sacramento, Calif., on June 4, 2002. She was born in Logan on May 19, 1921, to O. Guy and Ruby (Nebeker) Cardon. After attending Utah State University, she was married to Herbert R. Packard. The were later divorced. She had resided in Idaho Falls, San Francisco and Sacramento.
Carolyn was a remarkable mother who took great delight in her two children, Carl and Laura. She had a fine sense of humor and a sharp wit. Her open and inquisitive mind led to her favorite pursuits; reading, listening to music, particularly jazz, and traveling. She made several trips to Europe with her daughter and visited Mexico and North Africa with her sister and brother-in-law.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Sidney, her sisters, Alice (Carl) Belliston and Leith (William) Marshall and a nephew, Guy Marshall. She is survived by her son, Carl (Kaye) Packard of Sacramento, Calif., her daughter, Laura (Chris) Latiolais of Kalamazoo, Mich., three granddaughters, Sarah (Troy) Loftin, Catherine Packard and Cecilia Latioalis; a brother, Guy (Joyce) Cardon and sister, Pauline (Rex) Whitehead and 11 nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held in Logan at a later date.
