After a long illness, Carl Marion Cardon passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2014, at Penrose Main Hospital in Colorado Springs. 

He had lived in Canon City since 1972 and was involved in several community projects. Carl served on a Head Start committee, as PTO officer at Skyline elementary school and the budget and improvement committees at Canon City High School. He was elected to the Park Center Water Board for several terms. After working as a butcher, he worked at Rencher Concrete Products. Later he became a ditch superintendent  for Canon Heights Ditch. At one time he was an active square dancer in the Royal George Promenadors. He loved going to the high school football games when he was healthy enough to attend. 

He is survived by his wife, Verna Jo Cardon and five children. Julie Cardon of Canon City, Jeremy and Angel Dodson of Colorado Springs, Jennifer and Michael Stidd of Riverton, Utah, Jay and Kari Cardon of Magna, Utah, Joseph and Sheila Cardon of Riverton, Utah. With five grand children, Alexander Gerrish, Zachary Whitcomb, Samantha Stidd, Soicher Dodson, and Zathris Cardon. He is also survived by mother, Anna May Cardon, siblings, Georgia and Ed Lucero, JoAnn Whyte, and Jay and Pam Cardon. 

Memorial service were held on Friday, October 31, 2014, at ten in the morning at the LDS chapel on 1435 Elm street in Canon City. Flowers and cards can be sent to Holt Mortuary 806 Macon Avenue in Canon City.
