Beth “Rasmussen” Fenus died Feb. 2, 2014 at her home in Mountain View.
She was born May 2, 1922, in Uintah, Utah, to George A. and Helen “Hinshaw” Rasmussen.
Beth grew up on the family ranch in Robertson, attending school in a one-room school house on Thunderbolt Mountain until her teens, then boarded out in Mountain View to complete her education.
On June 29, 1940, she married Edward Fenus in Evanston. After their marriage they lived on the Fenus ranch for a short time and then moved to Rock Springs. When WWII broke out, they returned to Mountain View to help with the ranch.
Beth was a wife, mother, rancher, lumberjack, truck driver and homemaker. She enjoyed raising a herd of sheep, making rugs on a loom, sewing and cooking for everyone.
Beth was very active with the community always doing something to help the other person. She was a charter member of Club 15 and service person with the Non-Denominational Food Pantry. Being a very active member of St. Helen’s Catholic Church, she sat on the Parish Council, held various offices of the Council of Catholic women, and one of the first members in establishing the St. Patrick’s Smorgasbord, which will celebrate its 60th year.
Raising her family always came first in teaching the values of life. The coffee pot was always on, and the door was always open.
Beth is survived by her husband, Edward of 73 years; four children: Donna Bindl, Gary (Bonnie) Fenus, Penny (Ronny Jr.) Robbins and Marybeth (Sid) Sibert all of Mountain View; 15 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters: Alice Marie (Rea) Huntington and Bernice (Claude) Walker of Lyman.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, three brothers: Tom, Paul and Charlie Rasmussen; sister, Sister Miriam Rita; son: Robert (Bob) Fenus; four grandchildren: Cindy Elizabeth and Edward (Eddie) Jr Bindl, Sean Fenus and Bobbi Jane (Fenus) Meyer.
