Bertha F. Byrne, 75, of 141 W. Shepherd St., Winnemucca, died Friday in a Reno hospital.
She was a telephone operator for the Elko Telephone Co. and Bell of Nevada for 30 years until her retirement 18 years ago.
She attended schools in Piedmont, Wyo., Beowawe, and San Jose.
She was born in Piedmont, Oct 20, 1893, the daughter of Francis and Emma Byrne.
She is survived by brothers, Edwin Byrne and Fred Byrne of Winnemucca, Kendell Byrne of Elko; and sisters Kathryn Adreasen of Orangevale, Calif., and Alta B. Fernald of Elko.
The funeral will be held in Elko at the Burns Mortuary Monday at 2 p.m. Ross, Burke and Knobel Mortuary in Reno is in charge of local arrangements.
