Our beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Barbara Burningham Park, 84, died May 28, 2008, in Orem, Utah, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born March 20, 1924, to Clifford Lester and Sarah Clayson Bruningham in Provo, Utah. Barbara was raised in Orem, and graduated from Lincoln High School and LDS Seminary, While working at Fort Douglas she met her husband, Harold Don Park. They were married on February 22, 1946, in Provo, Utah. They were sealed in the Manti Temple on June 27, 1964.
After graduating from business school, Barbara worked at Utah Valley Hospital for over 20 years. She was active in the LDS Church and served in many capacities. She loved serving her family and friends, and for many years enjoyed outings with the Squaw Peaks Good Sam Club with her husband. She was a member of DUP for many years.
She is survived by her husband, Harold and six children: Susan (Dave) Allen, Joan (John) Healy, Joseph (Nancy) Park, Brian (Jana) Park, Christine (Richard) Marshall, and Drue (Shauna) Park, 24 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. Barbara is also survived by two brothers, Lamar and Leland Burningham, and one sister, Betty Oscarson. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents & one brother, Clifford L. Burningham.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Hearts for Hospice and Heidy Tippetts and all others who attended to Barbara during the final hours of her life.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 31, 2008, at the Sharon LDS Chapel, 641 South 400 East, Orem. Family and friends may call from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the church. Interment will be held at the Orem City Cemetery
