ST. GEORGE – Arthur Lee Ruchti, 72, died Sunday, July 26, 1996. He was born in Pocatello, Idaho to William Ferdinand and Beryl Cardon Ruchti. He married Beverly Peel June 29, 1968, in Pomona, Calif. Their marriage was solemnized one year later in the Los Angeles LDS Temple.

Mr. Ruchti worked for the US Postal Services in Hollywood, Whittier and Garden Grove, Calif. He lived in Huntington Beach and in Riverside, Calif. before moving to St. George where he has resided for the past 16 years. He served in the U.S. Navy in the Asiatic Pacific Area during WW II. An active member of the LDS Church, he served in the scouting program and in the high priest group leadership. He loved sports and dogs and enjoyed landscaping and walking. He also enjoyed and wrote poetry. He was a great neighbor and was known for his sense of humor.

Survivors include his wife, Beverly, of St. George: Karen Huntington; Kris (Janis) Ruchti; Julie Ruchti; David Ruchti; all of Eugene, Ore.; and Mary Lou Cesneros, Rosemead, Calif.; stepchildren: Douglas Robinson, Lancaster, Calif.; Michael (Kari) Robinson, Olympia, Wash.; Dennis Robinson, Portland, Ore. and Jeffrey (Laurie) Robinson, Orem; 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one stepson, Timothy Robinson and three brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 31, 1998 at 10:30 a.m. at the Pine View LDS Stake Center, 595 North 2450 East. Friends may call Thursday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Metcalf Mortuary, 300 West St. George Blvd., and on Friday morning from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Stake Center prior to services. Grave side services will be held Saturday, Aug. 1, at 10:30 at the Camp Williams Veterans Memorial Cemetery under the direction of the Metcalf Mortuary.
