SMITHFIELD–Mrs. Amanda Cardon Ricks, 83, of Smithfield, widow of Silas S. Ricks, died Saturday at her home.
Among the survivors are three sons and a daughter of Ogden, Leon C. Ricks, Mrs. Steven (Phyllis) Daggett, Clyde Ricks and Robert Ricks; one brother and sister, Mrs. A. P. Jensen and Moses Cardon, both of Ogden.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Benson Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the Hall Mortuary in Logan tonight from 7 to 9 and at the family home in Smithfield Wednesday from 11 a.m. until services. Burial in Logan Cemetery.

SMITHFIELD, Cache County — Amanda Cardon Ricsk, 83, 143 1st West, Smithfield, died Saturday at home after a brief illness.
Born Jan. 22, 1880 in Logan, a daughter of John P. and Magdalene Beus Cardon. Married Silas S. Ricks in the Logan Temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Dec. 19, 1901. He died Feb 1, 1950. Mrs. Ricks had resided in Smithfield for the past eight years, before that in River Heights for 10 years and in Benson Ward.
Survivors: eight sons and four daughters, Leon C. Ricks, Mrs. Steven (Phyllis) Daggett, Clyde and Robert, all Ogden; Mrs. Mark (Thelma) Stone, Pocatello, Idaho; Mrs. Alton (Norma) Hillyard, and Claude, Smithfield; Mrs. Nick (Edna) Hammler, Rogue River, Ore.; Don, Sanford, both Norwalk, Calif.; Blayne, Lancaster, Calif, Floyd, Long Beach, Calif. – 27 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, two sisters and one brother, Mrs. E. L. Walker, Glendale, Calif.; Mrs. A. P. Jensen and Moses Cardon both of Ogden.
Funeral services Wednesday, 2 p.m., Benson Ward chapel. Friends call Hall Mortuary, Tuesday, 7-9 p.m. and at the family residence in Smithfield, Wednesday from 11 a.m. until time of services. Burial, Logan Cemetery.
