Brief Life History of Joanna Beryl

When Joanna Beryl Bronson was born on 14 April 1937, in Pocatello, Bannock, Idaho, United States, her father, Earl William Bronson, was 47 and her mother, Salina Marie Ruchti, was 24.

In 1952 she was a member of the first year Latin Club at Pocatello High School.

She graduated from Idaho State College in 1959. Her major was physics. She was briefly employed as a mathematician in Los Angeles.

She married Don Kaye Worsencroft on 27 February 1960, in Pocatello when she was 22 years old and Don was 27. They were married by Bishop Rulon J. Stuart, of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Twenty-Fifth Ward in the Sixth Ward building. Don also studied in the Pocatello schools and was graduated in 1953 from Idaho State College with a physics and mathematics major. He taught physics at ISC in 1958-59 and worked for the Forest Service. Just following their wedding, he was employed by the Interstate Music Co. Together they had two daughters, Ann and Susan and one son, Samuel Paul. Ann was born in Pocatello. Susan was born in Morehead, Kentucky and Paul was born in Bozeman, Montana. She was baptized and confirmed a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints August 31, 1963. In 1964 she was sealed to her spouse. Page 443 of the Cardons! book indicates that they later divorced. She lived in Pocatello in 1940, 1950, and 1961. In 1963 she was in Morehead, Kentucy where Mr. Worsencroft was the sponsor of the Mu Phi mathematics and physics organization at Morehead State University and also an assistant professor of physics. In 1965 she was in Bozeman, Montana. She lived in Guam from about 1970 to 2010.

Her father died 2 Mar 1974 in Pocatello, Idaho and was buried in the Mountain View Cemetery. Don died December 13, 1993, in Honomu, Hawaii and was cremated. His ashes were privately scattered at a later date. Her mother died September 14, 1996 in Pocatello and was buried there in the Mountain View Cemetery.

She died of cancer on 18 September 2010, in the United States Naval Hospital, Guam, at the age of 73. She was cremated and a private burial of her ashes were held at a later date.


JOANNA WORSENCROFT

GUAM – Joanna Beryl Bronson Worsencroft passed away on Sept. 18, 2010, from cancer at the age of 73. She died on the Island of Guam, where she had been a resident for the past 40 years.

Joanna was born in Pocatello, graduated from Pocatello High School, and later attended Idaho State College before becoming a wife and mother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and sister. She is survived by three children, four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
