A funeral will be at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2001, in Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Vancouver, Wash., for Robert L. Wells, who died Sept. 28 at age 73.
Mr. Wells was born Jan. 11, 1928, in Ridgefield, Wash. He was a long-haul truck driver for several companies, and then was self-employed until retiring in about 1990. He lived in Nehalem until returning to Ridgefield in April. In 1948, he married Betty J. Cardon; they divorced.
Survivors include his daughters, Peggy, Diana Bronkhorst, Debra Saniti and Cindy Hague; son, Randy; sister, Alice Stoudt; daughter-in-law and caretaker, Donna; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Interment in Eureka Cemetery in Newport. Remembrances to any humane society.

A funeral will begin at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel for Robert L. Wells, who died Friday, Sept. 28, 2001, in Portland. He was 73.
Mr. Wells was born Jan. 11, 1928, in Ridgefield. He lived in Nehalem, Ore., for eight years before moving back to Ridgefield a year and a half ago.
Mr. Wells was a long-haul truck driver who enjoyed fishing, crabbing, flea markets, and pets. He was a member of Oregon City Elks, the Teamsters union and the American Association of Retired People.
Survivors include four daughters, Dianna Bronkhorst of Vancouver; Debra Saniti of Boring, Ore., Peggy Wells of Auburn, Wash., and Cindy Hague of Battle Ground; a son, Randy of Ridgefield; a sister, Alice Stoudt of Tacoma; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Private interment will be in Newport, Ore.
