Florence Clayson Chapple, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away December 4, 1997, from complications due to an extended struggle with diabetes.

Born June 22, 1920, to George Easson and Edith Cardon Clayson in Provo, Utah. There were eight siblings in her family: George Nathan, Sarah Burningham, Edith Robinson, Jesse Williams, Joseph, Annie Brown, Ethel Clayson, and Faye Richan. Florence married Frank J. Chapple August 20, 1937, in Bountiful, Utah. They had two sons, Jay D. Chapple & Larry C. Chapple.
She attended Provo High School. She was a member of the LDS Church and worked in the Scouting program for many years. Florence’s happiest moments were spent in the company of her family, and she was well-known for the many hears of unselfish service she freely gave to her family. Friends and family affectionately knew her as “Flossy”. She enjoyed gardening (especially flowers) and cooking. Her unconditional love for her family and her humorous disposition will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband, Frank, son, Jay Darrell Chapple (Ruby) eight grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Florence and Frank raised their two children in their present home of 54 years and celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary last fall. She was preceded in death by all of her brothers & sisters and her son Larry C. Chapple who passed away in February of 1997.
Funeral services will be held Monday, December 8, 1997, at 11:00 a.m. in the Berg Drawing Room Chapel, 185 East Center Street, Provo. Friends may call Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m., or Monday morning, one hour prior to services. Interment, Spanish Fork City Cemetery.
