SOUTH OGDEN – Gary J Smith, 55, died Saturday, May 9, 1998, at his home.
He was born December 27, 1942, in Ogden, a son of Virgil O. and Ireta Jaques Smith.
On September 6, 1966, Gary married Sherrill Hill in Ogden. They were later divorced. Gary married Tina Cardon on November 10, 1976, in Ogden. They were later divorced.
He was raised and educated in Ogden and attended Ogden High School.
Garry was a member of the LDS Church.
He joined the U.S. Marine Corp in 1960 and served in Okinawa.
Gary had been an aircraft electrician at Hill Air Force Base and a mechanic at Valley View Golf Course.
He was a member of the Eagles Lodge.
Surviving are three daughters, Shawnie Kimble, Tiffany Smith and Jody (John) Jensen, all of Ogden, two stepdaughters, Shauna (Chris) Macke, Virginia Beach, Virginia, Terri (Rex) Marks, Roy, 12 grandchildren
Also surviving are his mother and stepfather, Ireta and LaMar Taylor; four sisters, Marlene Stark, South Weber; Judy (Cliff) Kimball, Washington Terrace, Kathy (Mel) Rhoades, South Weber, Deon (David) Rasmussen a special sister (cousin), Ogden.
Gary was preceded in death by his father, Virgil O. Smith and his brother-in-law, Reid O. Stark.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd, with President Craig J. McMillan officiating.
Friends may call at the mortuary on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday Noon to 12:45 p.m.
Interment Aultorest Memorial Park.
